Blue Ridge varsity volleyball team earns win against Cherokee

Blue Ridge Early College varsity volleyball team came ready to play and donning pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and won against Cherokee 3-0.

“We attacked and hit the ball as well as have all year,” said Blue Ridge Assistant Coach Carlton Fowler. “That’s what we work on and that’s what it takes to win. If you’re not hitting the ball then you continuously play defense.”

Jade Bryson has to reach for it but makes the pass while playing against Cherokee.

“They’re a good hitting team,” said Fowler. “If we don’t hit well against them we won’t be successful.”

On the agenda for practice tomorrow, digging and passing drills.

“They’re a strong-hitting team but if we pass well and work together as a team if should be good.
