Attendees to the Cashiers Valley Leaf Festival enjoyed live music, dined on local cuisine and got a look at a variety of arts and crafts over the weekend.

Held every fall, the festival celebrates the transitioning colors of the leaves in the Cashiers area. There were artisans showing off their wares including paintings, photographs, hand-made wooden bowls, knives, scarves, pottery and that doesn’t even scrape the surface. The Village Green Executive Director Ann Self said there were 60 artists who participated this year.

Vendors from all over the area exhibited their wares to an appreciative crowd.

“The Village Green is making an intentional move to focus on artisan vendors only moving forward,” said Self. “This aligns with our mission statement to enhance cultural life in Cashiers.”

This is the first time The Village green has hosted the event and Self said it helps advance the mission of the community.

“The Village Green endeavors to be a window on the pleasurable pursuits and traditions that make Cashiers so unique,” said Self.
