Highlands Bolivian Mission Pizza Night

The Highlands Bolivian Mission is having its annual Pizza Night at the Highlands United Methodist Church from noon to 8 p.m. on January 20, 2019. This fundraiser will support the mission and all the people that benefit from the mission’s work in Montero, Bolivia. This is the day of the NFL Conference Championship Games.

The main-focus of the mission is the foster home, where 23 boys, previously abandoned on the street, live in a loving atmosphere with plenty of food and they receive an education, the main way to lift one’s self out of the cycle of poverty. The mission also provides clean water to thousands of people living in rural areas where the infant mortality used to be over 10 percent and now is less than 1 percent. The mission still supports churches and has given away thousands of Bibles and supports the medical community also. The mission is heavily involved, with the help of Rotary International, in providing wheelchairs and have been involved with the distribution of over 1000 wheelchairs over the last twelve years.

This year there will be a special new pizza option: a bratwurst pizza in addition to the usual beef, sausage, pepperoni, onion, mushroom, green peppers, extra cheese and gluten free options are available. Not only that, but we also deliver in the Highlands area. Two topping pizzas are $25 and three or more toppings are $35. You can call the church at 828-526-3376 and make your reservation in advance or call 828-200-0902 on Sunday to make you order on the day of the event.
