Summit Middle School girls basketball team won the Tri-State Championship at home after defeating Tallulah Falls 36-18 on Feb. 3.

“I’m proud of the team and work they put in,” said Summit Coach Jeremy Robinson. “We have a great team vibe and the players work hard for each other.”

This is the second year Summit MS girls have brought home the basketball championship banner and the third championship for the Lady Bears this year.

“The girls already took cross country in the fall and had an undefeated volleyball season as well, so they are perfect in the conference this year,” said Robinson.

The road to the Championship included a close game against Highlands that Summit won by 5 points on Jan. 26.

Summit took on Rabun Gap in the semi-finals that the Lady Bears won 34-7, with Summit Bailey Robinson putting up a whopping 24 points on the board. Robinson matched that in the finals scoring another 24 points, including six 3-pointers.
