Highlands took on Blue Ridge Early College on St. Patrick’s Day in Cashiers and won 9-1.

“The girls played a strong game against BREC,” said Highlands Coach Nicole Rice. “Even with a few players switching positions, they worked well together. Gaby, Aislynn, and Jordyn were the goal scorers, and Trinity [Faust] had an outstanding performance as goalie.”

BREC April Corona put the Lady Bobcats on the scoreboard and BREC Coach Nick Pressler said games like the one against Highlands are opportunities for a young team to learn the game.

“We are really young,” said Pressler. “I have 6 players who are playing soccer for the first time ever. Inexperience and still trying to figure out the pieces of the puzzle. This year’s success will not be measured by wins or losses. More importantly it will be the growth and resiliency of this young team.”
Highlands hosts Murphy tonight, game starts at 6:30 p.m.
