Elizabeth Spaulding, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters based in Highlands since 2002, was the featured speaker at the meeting of the Rotary Club of Highlands on July. She was introduced by Rotary Club member, Rick Siegal.
Elizabeth spoke on the benefits of Big Brothers Big Sisters on students at Highlands School who are enrolled in the program. This is a mentoring program for at-risk students between 6 and 15 years of age to provide friendship, guidance and role modeling.
Ashlynn Parker, a Little Sister, gave a very moving speech outlining the benefits that she has had from a close relationship with her Big Sister.
