Highlands loses to Rosman in game 5

The Lady Highlanders varsity volleyball team could not seal the deal against Rosman on Aug. 23 losing 3-2. To add to the loss, senior Kedra McCall injured her ankle and will be out for several games.

“I went up for a block and came down and the other team’s player was on our side of the net and I landed on her ankle,” said McCall.

Head Coach Katy Postell said she hopes McCall will be able to return to play a conference game against Hiawasee Dam on Aug. 30 after the junior varsity game that begins at 5 p.m. at Highlands School.

McCall was replaced by Bailey Schmitt after the injury in the middle of the third game.

“It was heartbreaking, selfishly I wanted to be out there,” said McCall. “But I know they are capable without me. Bailey showed what she had out there, she was just awesome at the net and tipping it right where people couldn’t get it. ”
