Rabun Gap Eagles wrestlers start season strong

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School’s wrestlers opened the season in great style on Saturday, Nov. 10, when the split squads competed at both Habersham and the West Hall Spartan Slam. Four out of the five wrestlers who competed in the Slam brought home medals. Quillen Martin ’20 of Clayton, Ga., came first in his weight classification. Martin battled his way to four wins, three by pin, including his finals match.Other wrestlers who placed in their respective weight classifications at the Slam were:

  • Zheng Hui “Joey” Cao ’20 of Shengzhou, China, sixth place
  • Matt Campbell ’20 of Highlands, N.C., fourth place
  • Cole Owens ’20 of Conyers, Ga., fourth place
  • Aidan Loring ’20 of Clayton, Ga., fourth place
