Blue Ridge Middle School boys basketball team defeats Scotts Creek on season opener

Blue Ridge Middle School boys basketball team pulled off a win against Scotts Creek on Thursday with a final score of 18-6. Head Coach Jim Mull said Blue Ridge played well but there is room for improvement.

“For the first game they did pretty good,” said Mull. “We have a lot to work on, but for a lot of these boys it’s their first year playing.”

7th-grader Levi Walters said they did a decent job for a first game but looks forward to ironing out some kinks in the fundamentals.

“I think it went pretty well,” said Walters. “We have a lot of work to do but we did great tonight, we held it together and nobody freaked out. We have a good team so far, but we need to work on our layups and rebounds.”
