It began snowing in downtown Highlands at about 1:15 p.m. and has been falling steadily. Highlands Police Chief Bill Harrell suggests visiting Ready NC for more emergency and winter-weather preparedness tips.
Editor’s Note: The snow is falling steadily with heavy-wet flakes. All of my weather apps have the temperature in Highlands at 34 degrees F. The roads seem fine at the moment because it’s too warm to stick, but once that temperature drops below freezing I’m guessing the roads will be a mess. Drive safe Plateau people.
