Highlands PAC presents the MET Opera’s production of Adriana Lecouvreur live via satellite

The Highlands Performing Arts Center will present Live via Satellite the MET Opera’s production of Adriana Lecouvreur on Saturday, January 12 at 12:55pm (with a pre-opera discussion at 12:30pm.)  Adriana Lecouvreur by Cilea—New Production. For the first time at the Met, Anna Netrebko sings the title role of Adriana Lecouvreur, the great 18th-century actress in love with the military hero Maurizio, sung by tenor Piotr Beczała. Gianandrea Noseda conducts Cilea’s tragedy, in a new staging by Sir David McVicar, with the action partially set in a working replica of a Baroque theater. The cast also features mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili as the Princess of Bouillon, Adriana’s rival for Maurizio’s affections, and baritone Ambrogio Maestri as Michonnet.  Tickets are available online: highlandspac.org, at the door or by calling 828.526.9047.  Highlands PAC, 507 Chestnut.
