Phase 1 of construction is moving full-steam ahead as part of the renovation and expansion of the Highlands Performing Arts Center. Items currently underway include site clearance and utilities work, said PAC Executive Director Mary Adair Trumbly. Bids for the final phase of construction are currently under review and the project is expected to be complete in 2020.
The canopy over the entryway was destroyed by the winter storm in December of 2018, but Trumbly said wheels are in motion to have it replaced.
“We are working with our insurance agent for the funds to replace it,” said Trumbly. “The replacement will be consistent with the renovation design.”
During construction, access to the PAC will be slightly impacted with parking available on the left side (when facing the PAC) and rear of the facility since the expansion will occur on the right-side parking lot.
