Highlands School holds recurring reading celebration

Every nine weeks at Highlands School there is a reading celebration. All students are invited that meet their reading goals for the duration of those nine weeks. This “accelerated reader” party is hosted by Melanie Miller, Academic Gifted Teacher, and Terry Stamey, Media Coordinator. Different activities are planned that include crafts, games, videos, party favors, and always a snack. Teachers believe rewarding students for reading will improve literacy and create life-long readers of students.
