Blue Ridge Middle School baseball team takes down Cullowhee Valley

Blue Ridge Middle School baseball team faced off against Cullowhee Valley at home on Thursday and throughout the ups and downs game, Blue Ridge played solid ball ending with a final of 12-6.

“We started the game off hitting the ball really well and continued that throughout the game,” said Volunteer Coach Eli Reece. “We made some position adjustments in the field this game that suited our players strengths. Eric Puskarich threw a gem with almost double-digit strike outs. Jesse Jones went 4 for 4 from the plate and seems to really be getting into a rhythm this season.”

Blue Ridge Levi Walters said they played well and want to keep the winning streak going.

“We did hella good,” said Walters. “Hella good, but we need to communicate better as team.”

Reece said the team enjoyed the win but has their sights set on their next opponent, which is at 3:30 p.m. away against Fairview on March 28.

“We are going to continue to work on fielding and batting skills as well as giving the kids more experience to help them learn to make the most effective decisions on defense and the base pass,” said Reece.
