Editor’s Note: Plateau Daily News had over 110,000 views over the past year and readership is growing steadily. As readership increases, so is the demand for more about life on the Plateau.
Enter local duo Mike Carrier and Ricky Siegel, hosts of Spotlight on the Plateau. The idea is simple, every Saturday Mike and Ricky recap the top stories of the week, highlight local businesses, and discuss upcoming events in the Highlands and Cashiers area.
If you’re unfamiliar with these two characters, there’s a strong chance you find yourself sitting next to Mike at a game or catch Ricky acting in any number of plays in the area. These guys are involved in the community, they care about the people who live here, and they want to highlight what makes the Plateau such an amazing place.
If you see them in town, introduce yourself and tell them what you think of the show, there’s a strong chance they’ll be nice. The goal is to inform, but also have fun. The pilot episode will air later this morning.
Before filming the first show at the Highlands Performing Arts Center on Friday, they worked up a rough outline of a script for guidance, but there’s no telling how long they’ll adhere to that script or how far they’ll deviate from it, I haven’t seen it yet. Check it out and let us know what you think.
Spotlight on the Plateau with Mike and Ricky every Saturday morning, pilot episode airing shortly.
