Highlands MS volleyball team beats Tallulah Falls’ ‘A’ team

After travelling to Tallulah Falls to take on their ‘B’ team last week and winning, Highlands Middle School volleyball team played Tallulah’s ‘A’ team at home on Friday and won 2-0.

Highlands Jasmine Oakley said Tallulah’s ‘A’ team was a challenge, but they stuck to their program and prevailed.

“I think we did really good,” said Oakley. “We played fundamental volleyball the way it should be played. And we were really scrappy, going for every ball that got shanked and hustling out there.”

Highlands MacKenzie Woods said they knew it was going to be a challenge facing Tallulah’s ‘A’ team.

“I think we did really good, especially since it was their ‘A’ team,” said MacKenzie. “We did well on talking, hitting, and passing the ball.

“We played well; our serves, hits, and passes were really good,” said Doerter.

Highlands Riley Logan said Tallulah’s dinks were well placed and difficult to defend against.

“We did well,” said Logan. “They had some good dinks, but our serves and hits were really good, and we won.”

Highlands next plays at 4 p.m. at home against Blue Ridge.
