Highlands Middle School soccer team took on undefeated Blue Ridge at home on Oct.8 and it was a battle to the end with Highlands victorious 2-1.

Highlands finished 3rd in the Tri-State Conference with an overall record of 9-6.
“I thought the guys played great, and really competed,” said Highlands Coach Jake Page. “We battled and that is what I was most proud of. Blue Ridge is a great team, very well coached and really tough.”

Page added the boys worked hard all season and is proud of them.

“We played really well,” he said. “Our kids never gave up and kept playing their game, I’m super proud of my kids.”

Mireles said ending the season with a 9-1 record is something they worked hard for.
“My kids played their hearts out all season long and played their game the entire time,” said Mireles. “They were all eager to learn and get better to prepare for next year and following years.”
