BREC Coach Cindy Fowler said a tough loss to Hiwassee can be rough after a big win against Rabun Gap.

“After playing one of our best games of the year against Rabun Gap we had a little let down against Hiwassee,” said Fowler. “We struggled to pass the ball as well as we had in previous games.”

BREC Peyton Bryson said it just wasn’t their night.

“Our passes weren’t great, and we made a lot of mistakes that shouldn’t have happened,” said Bryson. “We didn’t play like we wanted to. It just wasn’t our game.”

Fowler said the girls never gave up despite the scoreboard.

“The serving was much better, they continued to hit, and the passing was good,” she said.

BREC next plays Highlands in the first round of the Little Smoky Mountain Conference at 4 p.m. on Oct. 21 at Blue Ridge.
