Highlands Middle School girls basketball team came out psyched and ready to ball at their first official home game on Tuesday against Nantahala with a final of 47-14.
Coach Tim Dearth said the girls have been giving it their all at practice to prepare for the season-opener.
“The girls have been working really hard and I feel like they showed that tonight on the court,” said Dearth.
He added that it was a great first game and a lot of the younger players got time on the court.
“We have a lot of 6th-graders that got playing time giving them some good experience,” said Dearth. “I’m looking forward to see what this up and coming squad can do.”
Highlands next plays away at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 18 against Summit Charter School.
