Highlands Chamber of Commerce celebrates Annual Autumn Ovation

Each November, the Highlands Chamber of Commerce celebrates the successes of our business community with their Annual Autumn Ovation. Chamber Executive Director Kay McKan welcomed Chamber members and introduced and thanked Chamber Board members who had served during the year. 

A special part of the event is the presentation of three prestigious awards which are given to individuals and businesses, acknowledging their significant contributions to Highlands. This year’s event was hosted by Old Edwards at their new Woodfire Bistro + Bar, Four65. 

The 2019 award recipients are:   

Robert B. Dupree – “Outstanding Community Service”

Duke Power – “Volunteer of the Year”

Representing Duke Energy and to speak on this award: Gerald Parks, Duke Energy Construction and Maintenance Supervisor for Macon County

Del Roberts – “Outstanding Business/Organization”:  Given in memory of Del, local businessman and for his volunteer service to the Chamber
