Highlands JV girls basketball team opens season with scrimmage vs Brevard

The Lady Highlanders junior varsity girls basketball team took on Brevard on Thursday at home. The game was a scrimmage and no score was kept.

Highlands junior varsity basketball team front row from left are Kaylee Oakley, Brandy Zagal, Beatrice Bryson, Ashlynn Wilson, and Addie Westendorf. Back row from left are Ezra Branham, Riley Conner, Liv Lewis, Alyson Dayton, Emily Briggs, and Manager Madi Webb.

A sleight hiccup before the game began was a miscommunication with the referees, forcing Highlands Coaches Brett Lamb and Jake Page to fill in.

Editor’s Note: I was hoping the crowd would heckle Lamb and Page, but they called a fair game.
