This is the second year in a row Highlands won the regular season conference championship and LSMC tournament championship.
“We don’t get to say that very often,” said Highlands Coach Bryan Dearth. “So, we are rather proud of our accomplishments over the last few years. Our varsity program is young with plenty of talent ready to step up to the challenge.”

Dearth added the Highlanders played a great game against Hiwassee; they came out strong and never let up, and took control and maintained it throughout the game.
“This game was a very special and unusual championship game, every one of my 12 players played good minutes and scored,” said Dearth. “That’s very rare! I am super proud of team for all of their efforts and achievements.”

Highlands’ overall record this season was 9-14, which Dearth said he is proud of.
“The purpose of the JV teams are to prepare for Varsity so winning 9 games along the way is a good indication that we have accomplished some of our goals,” he said. “Very proud of these young men, our future is bright and I look forward to watching them grow and compete at the next level.”
