Community mourns loss of local couple after fatal wreck

A Scaly Mountain couple was tragically killed Saturday, May 23, in a motor vehicle accident in Mountain City, Ga.

David Head, a Corporal with the Macon County Sheriff’s Office and his wife Dawn Head, a Physical Therapist at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital were riding their Harley Davidson motorcycle in Rabun County when 22-year-old Travis Bartlett crossed over the center line. In addition to the deaths of Dawn and David, other drivers sustained minor injuries.
