On Saturday from 9:00 am to noon, celebrate Independence Day with a self-guided hike on the Highlands Greenway. Volunteers from the Greenway, the Highlands Biological Foundation and the Highlands Historical Society will provide ‘no touch’ activities and information.
This 3/4 mile loop will start at the new entrance of the Greenway on Oak Street, follow the trail to Mill Creek, ascend up to the Historical Village, travel south on 4th Street, take a right turn onto Maple Street then back up Oak Street to the starting point.
American flags will mark the way and you may discover fun activities along the trail. See map below for the location of the loop which is highlighted in purple.
Our first objective is to keep our community safe. All participants must maintain social distance and wear masks as mandated by the NC Executive Order to help prevent the spread of COVID19.
The hike is open to all and free. Scavenger Hunt details available at the kiosk at the main Botanical Garden entrance and at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center.
