The Highlands Performing Arts Center and the Highlands Playhouse are bringing outdoor entertainment to Highlands with a drive-in movie theater.
Ray’s Drive-in will hold it’s first event for the public on Thursday, Oct. 1 showing the long-awaited Great Arts on Screen documentary featuring Frida: Viva La VIDA, the life and time of Frida Kahlo.
Movie watchers start gathering at sunset, around 7:30 p.m. with the show starting at dark.
Friday, Oct. 2 will bring a Classic Film from the vast repertoire of Katharine Hepburn and her leading men, curated by Marjorie Christensen.
On Saturday Oct. 3, the Retro Drive-in pre-recorded concert starring the cast from the Broadway hit musical The Jersey Boys will be screened (all the songs of the 60’s & 70’s.) Again, gathering at sunset (7:30ish).
For both events plan to bring a take-out box dinner from your favorite restaurant and enjoy the company of others, safely social distanced at Ray’s Drive-in.
All Covid-19 precautions and protocol will be in place. Face coverings will required anytime you are out and away from your car, cars will be socially distanced (only 50 people will be allowed to sit outside in front of their cars.)
Audience will be limited to 45 cars. Drivers should enter from Laurel Street and exit onto Chestnut. More details HERE. Alcohol is prohibited.
