Highlands varsity volleyball team loses tough match to Franklin

Highlands varsity volleyball team took on Franklin at home on Nov. 23 and ended up with a loss, 3-0.

Highlands Coach Desiray Schmitt said the final score doesn’t reflect how hard the Lady Highlanders worked to score in the high teens all three games (25-17, 25-19, 25-19).

“I think the girls played so good in the Franklin game,” said Schmitt. “Franklin is a tough team.”

Schmitt added that some of the things Highlands is working on are communication and giving 110% effort out on the court.

“There are few things to work on, it’s normally same stuff different day,” said Schmitt. “Hopefully, the repetition will get old and they will make adjustments in the game.”

Highlands also lost on the road to Rosman 3-0 on Nov. 25.

Schmitt said Highlands has wonderful group of girls on the team, and with support from Assistant Coach Kaitlin Bishop she sees a great season ahead.

Highlands plays Blue Ridge Early College away on Dec. 4.
