Highlands Pool closes public swim amidst COVID-19 exposure

The Highlands Pool complex at the Rec Park has experienced an exposure from ‘someone’ who has tested positive for COVID-19, said Town Manager Josh Ward on Monday. 

Staff has been in contact with the Macon County Public Health Department and is following their recommendations.

Therefore, the pool was closed Monday, Dec. 14 for the proper sanitation and cleaning. 

Due to the exposure of the lifeguard staff, public swim will be closed until further notice.

However, lap swim, adult swim, and morning water aerobics will resume starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, Dec. 15.
