Mountaintop Rotary chops wood for Highlands Emergency Council

The Mountaintop Rotary Club of Highlands recently chopped four loads of wood, or about two cords, for the Emergency Council.

Six Rotarians manned a wood splitter and used mauls to split red oak.

Rotarians Kirk Dornbush and Jerry Hermanson man the wood splitter.

In addition to the wood, the Club donated Bryson’s Food Store gift cards to the Highlands Food Pantry. The cards were donated at Bryson’s during the time between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.

People can still donate gift cards at Mountain Fresh Grocery Store until the end of February.

About two cords of wood were delivered to the Highlands Emergency Council from the Mountaintop Rotary Club.

The gift cards help feed the hungry throughout the area at both the Food Pantry and the Emergency Council.
