Tickets are sold out for the July 4th celebration Concert On the Commons at the Village Green in Cashiers.
Ann Self, Executive Director of The Village Green, said all reserved boxes and general admission seating were sold within a matter of days for the concert featuring popular dance band Continental Divide.
“We have worked hard to accommodate as many people as possible given certain necessary space constraints to maximize venue capacity for concert goer’s enjoyment.”
She added that crowd size is expected to be close to 500.
Because the concert is at attendance capacity, individuals and groups should not walk up the day of the event and expect a place to sit.
Self said that tickets for reserved box and general admission seating for the July 23rd concert with Commodore Fox, Kaitlyn Baker, and Joe Lasher, Jr. are available by clicking HERE.
She also emphasized that those who volunteer will have either box or general admission seating at no cost.
As with all things returning with the decline of the pandemic and like many similar venues across the country, changes are necessary for concerts in 2021. This includes the advance sale of reserved box and general admission seating along with a limit on the number of tents.
Attendees will follow a check-in procedure with wristbands that must be worn by everyone in attendance. Concert goers will continue to bring their own chairs and blankets for seating.
Because of the absence of food and beverage vendors this year, attendees will need to bring picnics and coolers.
Chairs will be permitted to be set up only after 5 p.m. on the day of the concert when the box office will open for check-in .
Staff will usher ticket holders to their designated area.
Self expressed her appreciation for the community’s patience, understanding, and cooperation.
“We are grateful to be able to gather together again for concerts and return to a more normal program of community activities,” she said. “We hope these measures are only temporary for this year and that we can return to our typical summer concert series in 2022.”
