Mission Health is pleased to welcome the newest addition to Mission Community Primary Care Cashiers, Dr. Kathleen Shattenkirk.
Dr. Shattenkirk is a board-certified family physician with more than thirty years of experience in a multitude of health care environments. Dr. Shattenkirk joins our community from Wendell, North Carolina, where she was formerly with Tinkbird Healthcare.
She received her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Family Practice Residency at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Schenectady, New York.
Dr. Shattenkirk chose to pursue a career in family medicine because she enjoys taking care of patients of all age groups with a wide variety of medical needs.
She feels the physician-patient relationship is based on trust, mutual respect and requires great listening skills on both parts and strives to build a relationship that encourages patients to feel comfortable and confident navigating their health care decisions.
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, photography, and spending time with my family, friends, and horses.
