Highlands American Legion Memorial Brick Program “More than a Brick”

Would you like to honor that special veteran in your life? Consider purchasing an engraved Memorial Brick from local American Legion Post 370 to honor the veterans in your family or a veteran friend.

The Post is sponsoring the program and bricks are installed twice each year, Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

The next installation is for Nov. 11 during the Veterans Day ceremony at Veterans Plaza. A memorial brick is a lasting tribute that honors the service of an individual veteran. All bricks are personalized and installed in the Honor Walk at the Veterans Plaza.

Bill Edwards, co-chairman of the Highlands American Legion Post 370 Veterans Plaza Honor Walk project, is a Coast Guard veteran serving during the Vietnam conflict describes the purpose of the engraved bricks is to preserve and honor the brave men and women who have guarded our freedom for generations.

Veterans, their families, and friends can purchase the engraved bricks to affirm their support for their veteran loved ones and friends who risked their lives in the service of our country.

This effort by the Highlands American Legion Post 370 is undertaken as a service to the community. You may purchase as many bricks as you like for $50 for the first brick and $40 for each additional brick.

The brick inscription will include the veterans name, branch of service, and service dates. Purchase forms are available at the 24/7 Kiosk next to the flag at Veterans Plaza or by contacting Bill Edwards at edwa7353@bellsouth.net.

Orders must be placed by Sept. 1 in order to insure placement on Veterans Day.

So, place your order as soon as possible to honor the veterans in your life and make it “More than a Brick”.
