The Blue Ridge Early College girls varsity volleyball team has had a rough start to the season but things are beginning to turn around.
The Lady Bobcats traveled to Andrews on Aug. 29 and won in a tiebreaking 5th set.
The following day hit the road again and took on Hiwassee Dam and won 3-1.
BREC Coach Ashley Steinel said it was difficult at the beginning of the season because they couldn’t practice to due construction at the school and that the first four games helped shake out the kinks.
“We’re looking great and I think we’re in good shape,” said Steinel. “The main goal is making the playoffs.”
Overall, the Lady Bobcats are 2-4 and are 1-0 in conference play. BREC lost to Cherokee and Swain, and twice to Rosman.
