Blue Ridge Early College hosted last year’s conference champions Cherokee last month and lost 3-0.

BREC Coach Ashley Steinel said the Lady Bobcats are a young team and they’re learning the game.

“I think for being such a young team we played very well,” she said. “We were able to score more per set than last season, so we are for sure heading in the right direction.”

She added that throughout the match BREC talked and moved well as a unit.

“We need to tighten up on serves and defensive errors, but some of those will happen it is just part of the game,” said Steinel.

The Lady Bobcats host Robbinsville tonight beginning at 6 p.m.
