Work on the washout on NC 106 (Georgia Road) is set to begin Friday, Nov. 15. According to Mayor Pat Taylor, Bryson’s Grading and Paving was awarded the contract after bids were circulated at the end of October.

Repairs along NC 106 are expected to be completed by Jan.3.
NC DOT did the engineering design work and put the specs in the bid. “Bryson’s will be doing the underpinning and the paving,” said the mayor. “Several experienced highway contractors put in bids, but Bryson’s got the job.”
The finish date in the contract is Jan. 3, 2025 – depending on weather and any unforeseen issues. Bryson’s said they will begin mobilizing Friday and are hopeful the job will be completed prior to Jan. 3.
