Highlands Chamber of Commerce hosts Annual Fall Festival, Autumn Ovation

Each year, the Highlands Chamber of Commerce celebrates the successes of our business community with the Annual Autumn Ovation. During this celebration, guests are educated on the activities of the Chamber over the last year and are also given a taste of what is to come. Additionally, three prestigious awards are given out to members and businesses, acknowledging their significant contributions to Highlands. This year’s event was hosted by Old Edwards at the newly renovated Fairview House, formerly The 4 ½ Street Inn. Proprietor Greg McMullen was on tap to welcome guests and spoke to the construction and renovation of the historic property.

This year’s award recipients were:   

  • Duke Power – “Volunteer of the Year”

Representing Duke Energy and to speak of this award: Lisa Leatherman, Local Government & Communications Manager

Presenting: Michael Murphy          Recipient: Phil Potts 

  • Del Roberts – “Outstanding Business,” given in memory of Del, local businessman and for his volunteer service to the Chamber. 

Presenting:  Richard Delany           Recipient: The Ugly Dog Pub (Kay & Thomas Craig)   

  • Robert B. Dupree – “Outstanding Community Service” 

Presenting:  Bob Kieltyka               Recipient: Literacy Council of Highlands    Accepting:    Susan Smith/Bonnie Potts
