Highlands girls varsity basketball team came out ready to play and took down Rosman 69-37 on Tuesday.

The Lady Highlanders kept their passes quick and tight and were on fire shooting from outside the paint. Tuesday’s win over Rosman is Highlands Head Coach Jake Page’s first career varsity win.
“It feels great,” said Page. “All the credit goes to the girls. They moved the ball well, our defense was solid, and we were rebounding well. They were bringing it on both ends of the court.”

He added that he saw a change in the team’s attitude when they played Rosman.

Highlands’ victory was not a one-person effort. Points were spread throughout the team as all players contributed.
- Reese Schmitt- 8
- Haley Borino-13
- Chela Green- 7
- Bailey Schmitt- 2
- Jordan Carrier- 17
- Brooklynn Houston- 6
- Sayla Roman- 2
- Kedra McCall- 14

“They brought a different intensity against Rosman I haven’t seen in the past couple of games,” said Page. “But they stayed patient and waited for the looks they wanted.”

Highlands plays away tonight against Swain at a time 6:30 p.m.
