Highlands girls JV basketball team beats Hiwassee Dam

Highlands girls junior varsity basketball team defeats Hiwassee Dam on Wednesday 33-26. Highlands Head Coach Jake Page said they had a slow start to the game, but picked it up in the second half.

“We finished the game really well,” said Page. “We started off slow. The intensity just wasn’t there. But in the second half we turned it on.”

He added that the Lady Highlanders started making their lay-ups and Page shifted some players around.

“Anytime you win against a conference opponent like that (Hiwassee Dam) it’s a big deal,” said Page. “We moved some girls around and they all stepped up to get the job done.”

Highlands next plays at home at 4 p.m. at home on Dec. 17 against East Henderson.
