Highlands boys JV basketball team takes down East Henderson

Highlands boys junior varsity basketball team beat East Henderson on Dec. 17 at home 53-27. Highlands Head Coach Bryan Dearth said the team is making consistent improvements.

“We did better than we did against Tallulah Falls,” said Dearth. “We had fewer turnovers and second chances were fewer, they did really well.”

Highlands Reid Carrier takes a bit of a beating driving inside the paint. Highlands JV basketball team won against East Henderson 53-27 on Monday. Editor’s Note: It should be mentioned Highlands Ethan Tate did give Carrier some passing options but Carrier chose to drive.

Coming off a victory is a good feeling, but Dearth said there’s a lot to be done.

“There are definitely things we need to work on; conditioning, shot selection, and boxing out.”

Highlands boys varsity basketball Head Coach Brett Lamb said the JV squad did a great job.

“JV Boys played a well-balanced game on the defensive end and offensive end,” said Lamb. “Great win.”
