The Lady Highlanders hit the road and headed to Franklin for the High School Holiday Tournament on Friday. Highlands lost against the Panthers with a final score of 70-52.
Turnovers plagued Highlands throughout the game and it seemed Franklin’s shooters were locked in on the hoop scoring basket after basket from the field.
Highlands next plays today (12/29) at 3:30 p.m. at Franklin High School against Smokey Mountain for the second day of the High School Holiday Tournament.

Highlands Haley Borino worked Franklin’s defense hard and drove to the hoop all day, but once Highlands got the ball inside they couldn’t sink it against Franklin on Friday. Highlands girls varsity basketball team lost 70-52.

This is a rare occasion when Highlands Brooklyn Houston is working the perimeter. Most games she spends her time in the paint maintaining position under a consistent barrage of limbs.

This is the same Franklin player who was rejected by Highlands Bailey Schmitt in the previous photo. Pictured above, the Franklin player stuffs Schmitt. It appeared to be all ball, no foul, no whistle, it was a good play.
