Highlands boys varsity basketball team takes a firm beating against Franklin

The Highlands boys varsity basketball team was schooled by the Panthers down in Franklin yesterday at the High School Holiday Tournament with a final score of 80-47.

The tournament continues back in Franklin today (12/29) when Highlands plays Smoky Mountain at 5 p.m. at Franklin High School.

Highlands Destin Gearhart drains a 3-pointer on Friday against Franklin. Highlands lost 80-47.

Highlands Hunter Collins makes a Franklin player work for his shot.

While looking to the referee for the call, Highlands Dillon Schmitt takes a foot to the ribs. The call was against Schmitt.

Highlands Drew Chalker puts up two-points after taking the scoop from Hunter Collins.

Highlands Hunter Collins and a Franklin player collided and bashed their heads together causing both players to bleed. Both players were out of the game for approx. a minute before returning bandaged up.

Highlands Griffin Green sets Garrison Chalker up for the pick while driving to the hoop. Green and Chalker, along with Reid Carrier, all usually play for the junior varsity team, but suited up on Friday for the varsity game at the holiday tournament against Franklin.
