Highlands girls varsity basketball team defeated by Murphy

Highlands girls varsity basketball team faced an energized and confident Murphy on Wednesday and took a tough loss with a final score of 61-39.

Highlands Head Coach Jake Page said the Lady Highlanders played a tough game.

“I thought the girls played very hard,” said Page. “In the first half we played great defense. We we were closing out on the shooters and playing great help side defense. I also thought we rebounded pretty well.”

But Highlands’ strong defense wasn’t enough to clinch the win.

“Offensively we just had some trouble, which turned into turnovers or quick shots and Murphy was able to capitalize on the that,” said Page. “But we can fix all of that, just got to come back to practice and focus on getting better. But overall I was very pleased with how our girls competed.”
