Hospice House Foundation of WNC within $650,000 of campaign goal

Hospice House Foundation of WNC (HHFWNC), being well on its way to closing the gap to its $4.5 million Campaign goal, broke ground on a 6-bed Hospice House in Franklin, N.C. on February 22, 2019. Over the past three months, significant construction progress has been made and the project is on schedule to be complete by the end of next February 2020.

Construction is underway at HHFWNF

The hospice inpatient facility, to be centrally located at 272 Maple Street in Franklin, will be operated by Four Seasons Compassion for Life and serve the six far western counties of North Carolina and northeast Georgia. It will be named SECU Hospice House in recognition of the State Employees’ Credit Union’s $1 million challenge grant, and will become the only free-standing hospice inpatient facility in North Carolina west of Asheville.

To date, $3,850,000 has been raised, 86% of goal, thanks to grants, individual and corporate donations, and the efforts received from others. It will be through this collective philanthropic response that the people of our rural mountain region will have much improved access to a quality end-of-life inpatient care.
