Blue Ridge varsity volleyball team chalks up a win against NEXT School

The Lady Bobcats came out fired up and controlled the game from the jump, taking down NEXT School Eagle Ridge on Tuesday 3-0 at home.

BREC Chloe Fowler was a setting machine on Tuesday against NEXT School Eagle Ridge at home. BREC won 3-0.

Blue Ridge Early College Jazi Ferrin said even with a substantial lead they stick to their strategy.

“We’re just doing our regular routine that we do in practice,” said Ferrin. “When you get a big lead, you still stick to the routine but try and improve on it.”

BREC Stella Wilson said they had great chemistry out on the court.

“As a team, we worked well together and talked a lot,” said Wilson. “We didn’t get discouraged if we messed up and we all had a good attitude the entire game.”

BREC Brenda Rodriguez said she stuck to the game plan and things went smoothly.

“I’m feeling pretty happy right now,” said Rodriguez. “We were excited out there today and we just did our normal thing and it worked.”

BREC next plays at 5 p.m. on Sept. 9 away against Highlands.
