Blue Ridge Early College varsity volleyball team took on Rosman at home on Tuesday with a final of 3-1. BREC took the first set, but then unraveled in the following games.
“All our attitudes just dropped,” said BREC setter Mahalah Stewart. “We were getting mad at bad passes and hits and it was all downhill from there. It’s rough, but you keep your head up.”
Stewart added that things can get tough as setter, especially when you’re playing at the skill levels of both BREC and Rosman.
“You always have to make a good set or your hitter will be upset,” she said. “And you have to take whatever pass is given to you, sometimes it tough.”
BREC Katie Stewart said the Lady Bobcats did not play their finest games on Tuesday.
“Those were definitely not our best games,” said Katie. “We missed serves, passes, and hits; they came out stronger and that can happen. We knew it would be tough, but we came out and gave it our best.”
Blue Ridge next plays at 6 p.m. on Sept. 25 at home against Swain.
