Highlands Middle School soccer team hit the road and took on Summit Charter on Thursday and walked away with the win, 8-2.
Highlands Landon Green scored twice and said it was a good day for a game.
“I think we did well,” said Green. “We passed well, took a lot of shots, and just had a good time.”
Later in the second half, Highlands began subbing out players and Green said establishing a lead early helps everyone get some time out on the field.
“The little guys get a chance to play a bit and get some experience, it works out well,” he said.
Summit Jose Lopez put one in the back of the net and said the loss is rough, but the Bears are making improvements each day.
“We lost, but we did great,” said Lopez. “Last time we played we weren’t as prepared. Now we actually defended, pushed the ball, and attacked.”
Lopez added while they’re making progress, there’s still work to be done.
“We need more communication and we definitely have to stop bunching up and spread out,” said Lopez.
