Highlands Middle School girls basketball team hopped the bus to Summit Charter in the first official home game of the season at the New Summit Center on Monday. The Lady Highlanders ended up prevailing with a final 21-10.

Highlands ended up with the victory against Summit 21-10 on Monday at Summit.
Highlands Coach Tim Dearth said the girls have been hitting the court hard at practice and it’s paid off.
“The girls have been working hard and it showed tonight on the court,” he said.

Summit Coach Katy O’Dwyer said Summit is a young team that did a lot of things right on the court despite the loss to Highlands.
Summit Coach Kaylee O’Dwyer said the Bears played very well considering they are a new and young team.
“These girls have worked extremely hard in and out of practice over the last month,” said O’Dwyer. “I’m very proud of their enthusiasm and willingness to learn and grow. We did a lot of good things tonight, but we have things we need to improve on. All in all, we are still learning.”
