Jackson County Public Schools (JCPS) will begin the Child Nutrition Program on Tuesday, which will look similar to JCPS’ Summer Feeding Program, said Blue Ridge Early College Principal Tracie Metz.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, a hot lunch and “to go” breakfast may be picked up from these locations: Blue Ridge School, Cullowhee Valley School, Smoky Mountain High School and Smoky Mountain Elementary School, and Scotts Creek. Lunch pick up will take place at the car line between 11-12:30 p.m.
For Thursday and Friday, JCPS’ yellow buses will use their regular bus stops to make food deliveries.
For those who do not ride the bus, please contact Ashley Taylor at 828.575.1403 in order to add their address to the corresponding route. More specific information on delivery times will be available by tomorrow.
If there is a specific food need, a need for food delivery to the home, or if a person/community partner would like to volunteer, please contact Ashely Taylor at 828.575.1403.
Metz said it is important to coordinate all services through Taylor’s phone number; with specific needs and the limited availability of staff, this process will help JCPS maintain guidelines and address all needs or concerns.
