Highlands junior varsity volleyball team hosted Franklin on Monday but didn’t walk away with the victory, Franklin won 2-0.
Highlands Coach Kaitlin Bishop the girls played well considering it was the second game of the season and Franklin is a tough team.

“I thought our girls played pretty well against Franklin,” said Bishop. “Franklin is a good team and we hung right there in with them. With it only being our second game, we still have some kinks to work out. Our communication and passing game are two things we definitely need to work on.”

Highlands is 1-1 after the loss to Franklin, the first win was against Hiwassee Dam. Bishop said the future with these girls is looking good.
“Our record is 1-1 now and I have a really good feeling about the rest of the season,” said Bishop. “The girls come to practice ready to work and get better every day and that’s what it’s all about.”

This is Bishop’s first year as Coach at Highlands School and she said she is grateful for the opportunity.

“I’d like to give a shout out to Highlands School and administrators for giving me the opportunity to do what I love,” said Bishop. “They have welcomed me in with open arms and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of the highlander family!”
