By this time last year, the Macon County Academic Foundation would have approved thousands of dollars in grant money for in-class project materials and field trips.
Grant funds are raised at the annual Academic Auction, which due to the pandemic, had to be canceled this year for the first time in MCAF’s history.
This severely reduced the amount of money now available for teachers to use.
Despite this setback, MCAF is very thankful for the good folks at Ruby Cinema in Franklin for offering a safe place to continue what has become a new Christmas tradition in Macon County: The Polar Express movie!
The cost this year is $20 per vehicle (load up grandma’s station wagon!) and concessions will be available from the theater. The movie will be shown two nights, Dec. 18-19.

MCAF still has funds available and teachers should not hesitate to contact MCAF President Brian Aulisio to apply for grant money towards a class project.
