The Summit Charter School Foundation gifted all 45 faculty and staff members with Visa Gift Cards last week as a thank you for their remarkable work during an incredibly challenging year.
“The school’s faculty and staff have done a tremendous job this year and under unprecedented circumstances,” said Josh Crawford, chair of the Foundation. “This is the least we could do to honor their hard work and commitment to our children.”

The Foundation’s Board of Directors include Cashiers and Highlands residents Josh Crawford, Robert D. Hunter, Ralph Greene, Melanie D. Jones, Sarah Palisi Chapin, Darlene Conley, Ross Copperman, Don Glisson Jr., Sarah Jennings, Jim Nichols, and Glenn Ubertino.
Summit faculty were appreciative of the Foundation’s efforts.
“This gift is such a blessing to myself and my family,” said Second Grade Teacher Sarah Burnette. “Thanks so much to the Summit Foundation.”

The Summit Charter School Foundation raises money to support Summit Charter School, a K-11 (growing to K-12) public charter school in the Cashiers-Highlands plateau. Summit engages students in learning experiences that stimulate discovery, inspire excellence, and nurture a positive influence in an ever-changing world.
Summit’s primary goals are to graduate students who are academically prepared, engaged in the community, healthy, and strong in character. The school currently serves 239 students that represent four counties in rural western North Carolina.

“This is an incredibly generous gesture and I know our staff appreciates it very much. On behalf of our entire team, we extend deep gratitude to the Foundation for their ongoing support,” concludes Kurt Pusch, head of school.
